Get notified when your glucose is too high or too low on your FreeStyle LibreLink app◊.
If you’re setting up alarms on your phone, make sure Bluetooth is turned on before starting your FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor.

Open the FreeStyle LibreLink app
Tap on the menu and select ‘Alarms’
Tap ‘Low Glucose Alarm’
Toggle to ‘On’ to activate the alarm
Set your alarm threshold
Tap the back button and repeat steps to set the High Glucose Alarm
Your high and low glucose alarms are now on. Note: You may also set only one type of alarm if you choose to.
The Signal Loss Alarm is automatically turned on when you turn on any of the glucose alarms. The Signal Loss Alarm notifies you when your sensor has not communicated with the app for 20 minutes meaning that you will not be receiving Low or High glucose alarms.
1. Open up ‘Settings’ on your smartphone
2. Go to the Notifications section and select the FreeStyle LibreLink option called ‘LibreLink’
3. Toggle ‘Allow Notifications’ to on
4. Tap to tick the ‘Lock Screen’, ‘Messages’ and ‘Banners’ options to turn on all notifications
1. Under Apps, open up ‘Settings’ on your smartphone
2. Go to ‘Notifications’ and access the ‘App Settings’
3. Navigate your way down and tap on the FreeStyle LibreLink option called ‘LibreLink’
4. Toggle ‘All LibreLink notifications’ to on
Do not force close the app – keep it running in the background.
Ensure that your smartphone is within 20 feet of you at all times, unobstructed.
Turn off Do Not Disturb mode or select to turn on Override Do Not Disturb in your alarm settings.1

1. Override Do Not Disturb functionality depends on the phone model and operating system version you are using. You must accept the app’s permission request for Critical Alerts to turn off Do Not Disturb mode. You can also enable the Critical Alerts setting directly from the app’s notification settings.

◊ Patients choose which device they want to receive alarms: FreeStyle Libre 2 reader or FreeStyle LibreLink app. They must start their FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor with that selected device. Once the patient scans their FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor with that device, they can receive alarms only on that device. The FreeStyle LibreLink app is only compatible with certain mobile devices and operating systems.
