With the FreeStyle LibreLink app§ and LibreLinkUp, you can easily share your glucose data with up to 20 people in your support network, giving you additional support in keeping on top of your diabetes management.
What are the benefits of sharing my glucose data?◊
Sharing your glucose data with a friend, family member or caregiver can be a great way to help you feel more supported with your diabetes care.
This can be especially helpful for parents of children~ with diabetes, elderly or vulnerable people with diabetes, or for people who live alone.
Even if the people in your support network don’t have a full understanding of your condition, it can still be useful to feel you have the support of a friend or loved one while you’re on your diabetes journey.
However, you should make sure that any friends or family members who have access to your FreeStyle Libre glucose data are able to tell when they should help you to seek emergency help, follow the instructions in the glucose monitoring system user manual.

How it works
Start sharing your FreeStyle Libre glucose data in three simple steps:
1. Download the FreeStyle LibreLink App^
If you haven’t already, you’ll need to download the FreeStyle LibreLink app and set up an account (if you are using LibreView the log in details are the same).
The app stores all your glucose data in one place, to help you keep on top of your glucose levels. Once set up, you’ll also be able to see your latest glucose readings on an easy-to-read graph* using LibreView.
LibreLinkUp is compatible with Android and iOS smartphones. Check our website for most up to date compatibility information : HERE
2. Set up sharing
Once you’ve got the FreeStyle LibreLink app up and running, you’ll need to set up sharing. Do this by tapping 'Share' in the main menu and following the on-screen instructions to invite your chosen caregivers. You can connect with up to 20 people from a single FreeStyle LibreLink account.
3. Ask your support network to download the LibreLinkUp app
LibreLinkUp is the companion app to the FreeStyle LibreLink app, allowing glucose readings to be automatically shared with your caregivers in real-time. Once your caregiver has downloaded the app, they will need to register and sign in, then accept your invitation. Both you and your caregiver must have a network connection to share and receive glucose readings.
How to turn off sharing
You can stop sharing your FreeStyle Libre glucose data at any time using your FreeStyle LibreLink app. Simply go to the ‘Share’ menu, tap ‘LibreLinkUp’ and select the name of the connection you no longer wish to share your glucose data with. Tap ‘Stop Sharing’ to remove the person from your list of connections and stop them receiving your glucose information.
